I flew to Duke Medical Sports Clinic this week to have my collarbone fixed. I broke it almost exactly 1 month before, and was able to have surgery on 1/24/05 by Dr. Basamania a pioneer in the field of clavicle surgery and techniques for shoulder repair. I’m pretty happy about having had the ability to go see him. I’m also ecstatic that I was able to make decisions quickly enough to get in front of him before any tremendous healing had occurred. Not that any would have, because they took another before x-ray of my break, and it was still severely displaced–this bone was certainly not going to heal on its own. Thank god for a good doctor with a specialty in clavicles.
Now I’m back in NJ and can sit out of work for a few days, but my cell phone’s dead and I left my charger in NC. So my friends probably think I’ve disappeared.
