It’s overdue… but I know people wanted to hear about how I proposed. Here it is:

I told her that we were going to go out in Philadelphia to take pictures since earlier in the month she got a camera for her birthday (SLR–one of the professional types)

So she had been dying to go out and shoot photography

Basically in the middle of the week before we went to Belize… I said we should go out tonight and shoot pictures…

(I wanted her to have the feeling of being proposed to and then being whisked off to some foreign destination… so there was the excitement that women usually think of when thinking about these sorts of things…)

So off to shoot pictures we were… I took her to Phillie where there’s like this great area for walking through and seeing all sorts of cool architecture, sculptures, statues, and art… well I knew that I was taking her to Love Park, but she didn’t know… and I didn’t let on

When we got there we started walking and taking pictures of the various art sculptures and stuff… so then she turned over her shoulder and saw the Love Sculpture (which is very famous) so she got really excited and was like let’s go over there…

So we went over to the Love Sculpture and I was taking her picture in front of it and telling her how cute she was and what a great night it was… well as I was taking her picture I was already down on one knee in photographer’s pose… (you get it)

So I’m taking her picture and I’m like… man I really seem to be having problems with this film, can you come over here and help me out… she was all confused cuz she knows I don’t really have problems with cameras… but she came over to try and help… so I reached out my hand with the film canister… and I said… this is some really odd film… I just don’t understand it…

She starts looking at the film canister and was very perplexed, so as she was looking at it all confused, she then pulled out the little green tiffany’s bag from the film canister (well we all know Tiffany’s is a girl’s best friend–and fellaz if you don’t know get with the program) but it was still a complete shock and surprise because she didn’t know what it was…

and so I was already down on my knee and the ring was already in her hand… I was just like there’s no doubt I want you to be my girl forever…

Her face welled up completely happy and overjoyed… and we just walked through the park and around Phillie for like the next hour or so holding hands and looking at the various sculptures and artwork… looking up into the sky and talking about all of the possibilities

-that’s love
